Lord Grey School

CLARK and Lord Grey School used the lockdown period to fit out two IT suites at the school in Bletchley, Milton Keynes to provide students and staff with the most up-to-date technology learning environment.

The project was a comprehensive refurbishment which began with stripping the rooms of all furniture, flooring, ceilings and existing electrical/data systems.

The walls were prepared for decoration in the school’s colours. A new suspended ceiling with 600mm acoustic tiles was installed. The floor was resurfaced before new carpet tiles were laid.

New commercial worktops with heavy duty support legs, desk trunking and dado trunking were installed for new power, data and AV cabling. A new data services cabinet was installed and connected with a fibre-optic link to the school’s main server room. Cat6 cabling connects the workstations to the data services cabinet; all terminations labelled and tested. New ring main circuits installed, fed from a local distribution board on RCBO devices; all terminations labelled and tested.

New LED lighting, and emergency lighting to suit the new layout, was installed. New AV equipment was installed and tested so staff and students can look forward to working with the best teaching tools later this year.

The suites were fully deep cleaned on completion for final handover.
